isascii - ASCII character test

The isascii() function tests for an ASCII character, which is any charac- ter with a value less than or equal to 0177.
The isascii() macro returns zero if the character tests false or non-zero if the character tests true.

The isascii() function conforms to X/Open Portability Guide Issue 4 ("XPG4").
